2012 was another great Auto Fest in Frankenmuth. We'd like to extend another big thank you to the Staff of the Auto Fest for their awesome job. Some pictures from 2012 are below, but scroll down to see the 2011 display Thursday's kick-off at the Frankenmuth McDonald's was a huge success. It's fun to see a cruise night w/many different vehicles you are not used to seeing at a local cruise.
Friday always rocks with the big block party. This is an unbelievable sight.
Saturday it's back in the park to browse; and everywhere through the town you can see many beautiful rides. Classic vehicles cruising all the day & night. Children can enjoy a play area, real live animals, bouncy toys and a visit and magic show with Ronald McDonald. At 5:30 pm, thousands pack into the pavilion for the big dance & to party the night away. The Contours, The Ladeez & Teen Angels kept the dancers on their feet. Tony from the Auto Fest took the microphone at the dance and told everyone where the proceeds from the Auto Fest fundraiser are donated. It is all about the numerous organizations that benefit from this weekend. What a solemn touching moment for all as he talked & showed a video on the big screen honoring our military (more on that below). Much of this year?s proceeds will help support ?Michigan Own Military and Space Museum? located in Frankenmuth. Hands were not only held with family & friends, but from table to table as ?God Bless the USA? played. There was?t a dry eye.
Sunday ends this weekend with the award ceremony. Starting with the uniting of our Veterans as our National Anthem is played. It?s an enjoyable event to appreciate the stories of the winners who proudly drive their vehicles in front of the grandstand. When Tony is asked about the success of Auto Fest, he is quick to answer, ?It takes a team of dedicated, hard working people to make it happen?.
The Auto Fest staff appreciates each & every participant to help make this event a success.

Friday night Big Block Party was fantastic. The street was packed. The Crackle Fest started the evening. As pictured below, these loud cars put on a great performance and were music to our ears - the videos will tell it all. The entertainment was good and the food was unbeatable. Friday is a crowd pleaser.

Speaking of a crowd pleaser - Saturday nights dance was unbelievable. The Contours rocked the stage. How many of you remember the days when the bands performed and we watched, danced, sang, yelled and screamed - well that was exactly what we did while The Contours performed. Their performance was beyond amazing. We cannot take away from Phil Dirt & The Dozers for their performance. And there was a rocking performance by a group of three women with the Contours, called 'The Ladeez'. These women were great; they did songs by our old favorite Motown groups (plus).
In the audience was Rosaline one of the original Vandellas. She is such a nice lady and had fun along with everyone else.

Sunday's award ceremony - Twenty-five top winners and the category winners proudly display their vehicles in front of many spectators. Pictured below was the kickoff of the awards with the Veterans presentation with Ruthie singing and the vets holding hands in unity. Bob 'Sh-Boom' won the Hard Luck award - after blowing his engine (FYI - that's why you didn't see him in the Crackle Fest). Jeff for 'Least likely to be mistaken for a Willies'.
